West Virginia Employer Landscape Laborer in Wheeling, West Virginia

Our landscape work is seasonal and of a reoccurring nature. Specifically, our landscape work is completely tied to the seasons in West Virginia. In April, the snow has melted and the temperatures are beginning to warm up. The spring lasts for approximately two months (April and May) and by June the summer is underway. In the spring months, workers do spring clean-up, consisting of cleaning away the debris of the winter in yards and flower beds, adding topsoil, planting spring/summer flowers, mulching flower beds and beginning the first lawn mows for our clients. Summer work, during the months of June, July, August and September consists of mainly yard maintenance and lawn mowing. At this time of the year, the weather is traditionally hot and dry, perfect conditions for lawn work. By October and through November, the temperatures begin to cool and the leaves of the trees fall as well. This is prime weather for leaf clean up and the last mows of the season. My landscape workers will continue to work through the end of November, when the first frosts appear. By December 1st, there is usually a hard frost or even snow and my landscape workers can no longer work outside. It is for this reason that I have requested the start date of April 1st through the End of December 5th, I have no need for any landscape laborer to continue working and at this time the temporary seasonal workers will return. Duties include: Sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, use a variety of hand/power tools and equipment such as shovels, rakes, weed eaters, hedge trimmers and mowers. Install mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall units, ability to lift/carry 50 lobs. This is temporary and full time work, with 3 months of experience of landscape work required.
