Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Value Stream Supervisor to oversee and supervise our subassembly lines, fabrication and service parts. This role is responsible for a shift, in a high-pace and lean manufacturing environment with assembly/logistics and service operations. This position will be responsible to lead and manage associates, ensuring efficient operations, adherence to production schedules, and achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs). Additionally, this role will lead EH&S in creating, developing, and enhancing a safety culture. This role is a site-based ole in Wheeling, IL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain production schedules and commitments.

  • Ensure timely delivery of orders by partnering with internal customers and suppliers.

  • Oversee scheduling, production, and inspection; complete required documentation and production. reporting for areas of responsibility.

  • Partner with the materials team to effectively manage inventory to reduce overall costs and assure continuity in materials supply

  • Manage Subassembly, Fabrication, and Service Parts to ensure KPI’s are met.

  • Drive continuous improvement in the value stream through Gemba walks and CI initiatives.

  • Update and create standard work instructions (WIs); train operators on WIs, processes, and procedures.

  • Supervise, coach, and direct hourly employees within assembly production and service parts.

  • Effectively manages and addresses employee concerns, comments, and conflicts in accordance with guidelines established within the company. This includes but not limited to employee performance, annual performance appraisals, reward and discipline employees.

  • Conduct daily pre-shift huddles and foster teamwork.

  • Responsible for on-the-job training.

  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment using 6S and daily checks.

  • Collaborate with quality, engineering, and maintenance departments to resolve issues and take corrective action on deviations.

  • Ensure accuracy of inventory through cycle counts & restocking.

  • Analyze key issues, initiate action plans, and highlight critical issues.

  • Comply with and practice IDEX operating model and guidelines.

Safety:

  • Lead EH&S as the site representative with an EHS Compliance & Training Calendar.

  • Successfully enhance and promote a strong safety culture in partnership with our leaders.

  • Develop, implement, maintain, and ensure compliance with safe workplace programs, policies and procedures that enhance incident prevention and compliance with company, local, state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.

  • Maintain an audit program to include regular inspections of the facilities to identify any potential safety matters, PPE adherence and work with related department managers to comply with EHS Rules of Safety.

  • Own the process for ensuring effective safety training for all new hires and on an ongoing basis in alignment with position specific and regulatory requirements.

  • Investigate incidents, injuries or occupational diseases to determine root cause and recommend preventive measures.

  • Diligently manage worker’s compensation claims to ensure appropriate employee care and to facilitate timely claim closure.

  • Update and maintain SDS data using IDEX & Risk management platform(s).

  • Representing management/site in matters of health and safety with external agencies and organizations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required For this Position:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Ideally Engineering or Operations, or equivalent.

  • 3+ years’ of supervisory experience and in manufacturing.

  • Experience with having safety responsibilities to understand OSHA standards and EH&S protocols.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and record-keeping skills.

  • Proficiency with Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Excellent quantitative, analytical and problem solving abilities.

Preferred for this Position:

  • 3 years of demonstrated implementation experience in Lean principles.

  • Bilingual (Spanish\English)

  • Barcode usage in Warehouse

  • Experience with JDE or equivalent ERP system.

  • Demonstrated experience in flow principles, Kanban, and plan for every part (PFEP).

  • Demonstrated experience in leadership with a diversity of team skills.

  • Forklift Certification.

  • UKG Dimensions or similar for employee timecards.

  • Fabrication/ Machining background

Physical Demands:

  • Occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers, reach above shoulder height, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
