Under supervision, prepares and cooks food.

Shift: Thursday-Mon 6:00a - 2:30p
Full Time 40 hrs/weekly
Scope
Leads the work of the associates in the department. Acts as a resource and provides technical support.
Assists with creating new and substitute menu items.
Reviews menus daily to determine quantities of food and supplies needed.
Prepares food for cafeteria and catering using creativity, quality, consistency, and promptness.
Services as resource to educate/coach follow and comply with recipe standards. Demonstrate various cooking techniques.
Monitors and replenishes food as needed for cafeteria, catering, or patient trays.
Ensures food is being handled and stored to Hazardous Analysis of Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines.
Operates various types of kitchen equipment and maintain cleanliness. Records temperatures of refrigerators. Ensures equipment is in good working condition.
Monitors supply and equipment inventory. Notifies leadership team of needed equipment repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance. Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and established departmental policies and procedures and safety standards.
Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- ServeSaf certification to be acquired within 6 months of hire
Preferred
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
Experience in a healthcare facility, such as health care food service is preferred Minimum 6 months experience in quantity food preparation, preferably in a healthcare setting is preferred

Physical Requirements:

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$18.29 - $22.54
