Oneida Technical Solutions Senior Systems Administrator in Wharton, New Jersey

We are currently bidding on a contract providing support to the Picatinny NEC in improving the functionality of the overall delivery of Information Technology Services (ITS) and Administrative Telephone Services (ATS) on Picatinny Arsenal.

Job Title: Senior Systems Administrator (DCWF 461)

Location: Picatinny Arsenal

Clearance Requirement: Active Secret Clearance

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure, ensuring that it operates efficiently and securely. This role aligns with the Department of Defense Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) 461, focusing on systems administration tasks. The candidate must have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Management: Administer and manage Windows/Linux servers, ensuring their optimal performance, security, and reliability.

  • Infrastructure Maintenance: Monitor, update, and maintain all systems to ensure compliance with DoD standards and best practices.

  • Security Compliance: Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols in line with DoD requirements.

  • Incident Response: Lead and manage the response to system outages or security incidents, including troubleshooting and remediation.

  • Configuration Management: Ensure proper configuration management and documentation of all systems, adhering to the DCWF 461 guidelines.

  • Backup & Recovery: Implement and manage backup and recovery processes, ensuring data integrity and availability.

  • Patch Management: Oversee the patch management process, including the identification, testing, and deployment of patches.

  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor system performance, identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact operations.

  • User Support: Provide advanced technical support to end-users, resolving complex issues and providing guidance on best practices.

  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT professionals and stakeholders to develop and implement infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in systems administration, preferably within a DoD environment.

  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or similar.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in managing Windows/Linux environments, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware), networking, and security protocols.

  • Security Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Secret Clearance.

  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DoD Information Assurance (IA) programs and frameworks.

  • Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure).

  • Advanced certifications such as MCSE, RHCE, or equivalent.
