Robert Half Medical Billing Specialist in Wexford, Pennsylvania

Description

We are looking to hire a competent and specialized Medical Billing Specialist for a behavioral health organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for dealing with medical coding, handling insurance claims, payment processing, and a wide array of medical billing tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Handling and overseeing all aspects related to medical billing and coding for patient services.

  • Managing and submitting claims to insurance companies.

  • Ensuring prompt and accurate billing of services to maximize revenue.

  • Verifying insurance benefits and coverage for patients.

  • Regular follow-ups with insurance providers on unpaid claims.

  • Updating patient records with billing and personal details.

  • Implementing and adhering to procedures for managing behavioral health billing processes.

  • Solving patient billing complaints and inquiries.

  • Coordinating with treatment providers to ensure proper billing information exchange.

  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all federal and state health information privacy laws.

    Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in health administration, health management, nursing, or a related field. A certified professional coder (CPC) or certified medical coder (CMC) certification would be a plus.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role as a Billing Clerk or Medical Billing Specialist.

  • Prior experience in a medical billing role, preferably in a behavioral health setting.

  • Proficiency in medical coding including ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.

  • Knowledge of medical billing regulations, insurance procedures, and billing software.

  • Strong organizational skills with an exceptional ability to multitask and prioritize.

  • High level written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Familiarity with health information privacy laws and a commitment to maintain patient confidentiality.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
