Citizens Operational Excellence & Consulting Senior Analyst in Westwood, Massachusetts

The Operational Excellence Team is an enterprise-wide function spanning across all aspects of the bank. Our team partners with business lines across Citizens Bank to drive end-to-end engagement initiatives that transform processes and improve operating models.

As a member of the Operational Excellence Team, the Sr. Process Engineering Analyst works with cross-functional teams to significantly improve business processes that start and end with the customer During an engagement, the Sr. Process Engineering Analyst will either partner with a senior member on the Operational Excellence team on complex engagements or individually lead teams on intermediate engagements to diagnose issues, develop data-driven insights, and recommend solutions. In addition to supporting or leading a variety of process improvement activities, the Sr. Process Engineering Analyst will also support or lead change management efforts to ensure solution implementation and achievement of projected business results. The Sr. Process Engineering Analyst will also support or lead the development and implementation of measurement systems that provide business lines with operational visibility and monitor the outcomes process improvements. The Sr. Process Engineering Analyst’s information gathering experience, problem-solving expertise, and ability to become a trusted business partner will help shape the future of Citizens Bank.

Primary responsibilities include

  • Methodology: Successfully lead teams through all phases of a Lean, Six Sigma or process improvement activities (e.g., discover, diagnose, design, implement, measure & improve) across all aspects of an improvement (e.g., people, process, technology & policy) on intermediate engagements.

  • Program Management: Supports or leads the development, scoping and execution of intermediate business engagements that deliver value and results, realized by the business lines. Successfully applies a broad range of reengineering tools, methodologies and frameworks that can deliver tangible results.

  • Relationship Management: Develops and maintains trusting relationships with key stakeholders through the use of effective communication, active listening, emotional intelligence and leadership skills to foster alignment, transparency, and collaboration. Resolves any conflict or resistance to change to implement solutions in a timely manner.

  • Expertise: Stays abreast of the latest trends and best practices within the operational excellence practice and across other companies and industries. Facilitates workshops to educate and inform colleagues.

  • Development: Models a learning culture and a continuous improvement mindset. Serves as a mentor to develop analysts and coops and within the Operational Excellence Chapter and contributes to the goal of making the Operational Excellence Chapter a high performing team.

  • Data Analysis: You are proficient in collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing quantitative data from multiple sources using a variety of tools such as Excel, SQL, Minitab, and Tableau to provide actionable insights.

  • Analytical and Critical Thinking: You are proficient in gathering, translating, and synthesizing information to understand business problems and offer creative insights that result in value-add practical solutions.

  • Measurement Systems: You are proficient in identifying, establishing, and standardizing success metrics to visualize and validate improvement initiatives. You ensure sustainability of improvements by documenting and delivering training materials to business partners.

  • Facilitation: You are proficient in designing and leading process mapping sessions that document current and future state processes and identify opportunities and pain points. You can design and facilitate portions of process improvement and brainstorming events with guidance from a senior team member.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • A BS/BA is required (science/engineering preferred)

  • Preferred Experience

  • You have 3+ years of experience in operational improvement, financial services, banking and/or consulting with a history of collaborating on cross-functional initiatives that resulted in significant value-add.

  • You demonstrate knowledge in multiple operational improvement frameworks, methodologies, or toolkits such as Lean, Six Sigma, Business Process Improvement, Change Management, and Organizational Design.

  • You can link strategy to execution with the guidance of a senior team member and are comfortable taking risks and learning from failures.

  • You have experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, Tableau, or Minitab.

  • You have experience process mapping using MS Visio, Lucid, or similar.

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40

  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
