Position Description

Primary purpose:

  • The basic function of this position is to provide customer service for Kinder Morgan's customers, which includes but is not limited to: order processing, scheduling, bill of lading preparation, management of inventory levels. The incumbent interfaces extensively with terminal operations personnel, co-workers, customers, and regulatory personnel as required.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Interact with all customers which include maintaining all customer paperwork.

  • Provide general and account information in regards to customer inquiries.

  • Interact with customers and surveyors, regarding orders and product movements.

  • Work with operations, co-workers, scheduling, measurement, inspectors, UP Railroad and customers to reconcile custody transfer volumes. Utilizes knowledge of inventory system in responding to report request and inquires.

  • Accurately update/maintain the Galahad system. Input and confirm inbound/outbound movements, identify variances (gains and losses), run reports, enter gauges, generate plant operating orders.

  • Complete month-end-close to provide timely information to accounting for billing, and to customer for their month-end-close.

  • Respond to requests for product throughput analysis from various departments and customers.

  • Review daily customer truck rack activity data and distribute customer reports daily. Calculate daily customer inventories, responds to customer inquiries and requests.

  • Generate bills-of-lading for truck activity.

  • Distribute daily truck rack BOLs to operations.

  • Distribute daily truck rack weight tickets to customer.

  • Prepare rail road switch list.

  • Provide general office duties; such as typing, filing, faxing, mail sorting.

  • Ensure that all reports, records, and documentation is kept orderly and current.

  • Strict adherence to security regulations and procedures as stated in the terminal's Facility Security Plan.

  • Perform job in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Attend daily Safety, Quality, and Environmental (SQE) meetings and work in accordance to our SQE culture.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Position Requirements

  • Intermediate computer skill; with above average skills in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, and fractions).

  • Knowledge of GALAHAD is desirable.

  • Interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communications skills are required.

  • Ability to obtain TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) as offer by the TSA (Transportation Security Administration).

  • Customer-oriented and able to work in a team environment

  • Must consistently demonstrate a courteous, professional attitude when handling customer inquiries, as well as interacting with co-workers.

  • Ability to handle non-routine customer requests, problems and decision-making.

  • Must be able to take directions from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, adhere to operational procedures and follow work rules.

  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision and/or direction.

  • Successful completion of background screen and drug test upon job offer.

  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.

  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

  • The employee must meet physical requirements including but not limited to, walking, kneeling, crouching, climbing up/down ladders and stairs, negotiating uneven and moving surfaces, and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Office environment.

  • Must be willing to work overtime, as required.

  • Must be willing to respond to callouts as needed.

  • Some college or a college degree is preferred.

  • Experience and knowledge in the Bulk Liquid Terminal industry is preferred.

  • Basic scheduling functions are desired.
