BAE Systems Analyst I - Project Controls Planner/Scheduler in Westminster, Colorado

Working as a Program Planner/Scheduler at BAE Space and Mission Systems is an exciting opportunity to become part of a high-tech team of people developing innovative products for the Aerospace and Defense industry. You will be responsible for developing a multi-year plan that the team must follow to produce the customer deliverable. Tasks are performed under the general direction of program managers and functional managers, plus mentoring of senior Project Controls staff.

The Finance Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers the expertise and business acumen to increase value across the enterprise by providing actionable information with recommendations and opportunities to drive sustainable business growth.

What You ll Do:

  • Apply acquired knowledge to solve simple problems. Actively seek to expand knowledge of scheduling and tools support as performed.

  • Review the program contractual schedule requirements and work with the Project Controls staff to ensure requirements are met.

  • Support the Project Controls staff on assigned programs with:

  • Baseline schedule development and maintenance.

  • Weekly and/or monthly schedule updates and attend schedule update meetings.

  • Development of schedule reports and provide in a timely manner to support customer deliverables.

  • Attendance at customer meetings.

  • Presentation of schedule information to the customer and/or management.

  • Support to the Project Controls Cost Analyst, including quarterly EACs, rolling wave planning, variance analysis determination, cost and schedule integration, and other support.

  • Recovery schedule development and implementation.

  • What-if schedule inputs and analysis.

  • Support the development and maintenance of work center schedules.

  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

  • Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working o n-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor s degree.

  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience.Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

  • Solid knowledge and proven experience in utilizing business principles, concepts, practices, and standards.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work in a team setting, coordinating group initiatives in order to bring a project to completion.

  • Must have a positive attitude and be willing to take initiative.

  • Desired experience using MS Project and Excel, along with other MS Office Products.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Degree in Business or Finance.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $53000 - $72000

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
