AMERICAN GREETINGS CORPORATION Sr Commercial Analyst in Westlake, Ohio

This is a hybrid role, based out of our Creative Studios in Westlake, Ohio. As such, we will focus on candidates currently residing in Northeast Ohio. The Senior Commercial Analyst position carries out ad-hoc analysis and retailer-specific reports from a number of data sources, including Point-of-Sale, shipments, product footage, and other internal and 3rd party database systems (e.g. Retailer Loyalty Card Data Portals, Circana, Kantar Retail, etc.). Analyzes and interprets data using category management and statistical techniques in order to drive meaningful and measurable sales performance improvements at retail, often without direct guidance from the Commercial Analytics Leader. This person also helps to guide and inform the plans and tactics that support the overall analytics strategy for the company. In this role, you will proactively identify, adopt, and advocate for the application of cutting-edge analytical approaches at American Greetings. Strong communication skills are required in order to effectively consult and communicate insights to sales / business team clients and to collaborate with other analysts and leaders to advance the analytical maturity of the Analytics & Insights function. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Works closely and often independently with Sales team leadership to develop a strong fact-based selling relationship with the retailer's buying and merchandising teams. * Evaluates and develops analytical methodologies to track, analyze, and plan retailer opportunities. This individual leverages Point-of-Sale, shipment, and product footage data as well as 3rd party data sources to provide breakthrough insights for the retailer, Sales, and Product Merchant teams, often without direction from the Commercial Analytics Leader. * Track merchandising and promotional efforts to determine if they were efficient and effective, and make recommendations for improvement. * Quantify program initiatives and sales trends in order to help develop annual sales plans internally as well as for the retailer. * Develops presentation decks that are used by the sales teams to communicate product sales performance during partnership development meetings (PDMs) and retailer headquarters visits. * Communicate insights effectively, both verbally and in writing. The accuracy of reporting and analysis is paramount as many reports are directly shared with retailers and upper management. * The ability to successfully and independently manage a large number of concurrent projects at one time * Proactively mentor and coach less experienced analysts to assist with the development of their analytical and soft skills * Other duties as assigned.
