Job Description:

We are seeking two dedicated and passionate Special Education Teachers to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities. You will work closely with students, parents, and other educators to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IEPs for students with disabilities

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to students in various subject areas

  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the individual needs of each student

  • Collaborate with general education teachers and other professionals to ensure the inclusion and integration of students with disabilities in the general education curriculum

  • Monitor and assess student progress, and make necessary adjustments to instructional strategies

  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and discuss any concerns or challenges

  • Attend and participate in team meetings, professional development workshops, and other school-related activities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, attendance, and behavior

  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students

Qualifications:

  • Valid NYS teaching certification in Special Education

  • Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a school setting

  • Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and other educators

  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with disabilities
