Make a Difference
The MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) Technologist will assist and guide patients through MRI scans. This role will be conducting a range of exams with an increased emphasis on orthopedic exams.
This position will initially be an ambulatory role, requiring work in a mobile unit for approximately 19 months. Following this period, once the brand-new Westfield hospital opens, the role will transition to a hospital-based position.
The tentative onboarding timeline for this position is mid-March with a tentative department opening in late-April.
Exceptional Skills
Provide optimal patient care by conducting assessments and monitoring, while remaining sensitive to patient needs.
Receive, relay, and document all orders in the patient’s medical record.
Evaluate images for positioning, quality, and proper identification, deciding If additional images are needed.
Demonstrate proper use of department equipment, positioning devices, patient care items, and monitoring devices.
Apply patient safety principles throughout care, identify and respond to emergencies, practice Magnetic Field Safety, and ensure a safe MR environment by thoroughly screening all individuals and objects.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, and physicians.
Ability to use patient care skills to provide an exceptional experience.
Qualifications
- Two or more years of MR experience required.
Education
Associate degree in Radiology OR
Completion of a certification program in Radiography OR
Completion of a certification program in MRI
Certifications/Licensures
- ( American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT); OR Canadian Associate of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT); OR Certified Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) (ARRT)
