Make a Difference
The Director of Nursing will be over surgical and cardiovascular services at our new Westfield Hospital, a state-of-the-art facility. This is a unique opportunity to build a nursing team from the ground up. The Director will oversee strategic planning, business development, clinical outcomes, quality management, and excellence in customer service. In addition, the Director will manage daily operations including, but not limited to:
Provide adequate coverage in all areas through coordination of work schedules, patient schedules, and physician schedules.
Develop policies and procedures ensuring that staff operates within established guidelines.
Track statistical information regarding volume, employee productivity, and prepares requested statistical reports on a regular basis.
Conduct employee performance management, including managing up, appreciation, documented coaching/counseling, corrective actions, and work improvement plans in accordance with policies and established procedures
Exceptional Skills and Qualifications
Applicants for this position should demonstrate effective communication skills with all levels of the organization verbally, in writing, and through technology such as dashboards and PowerPoint presentations.
Bachelor’s degree required. Must be a Bachelor’s in nursing if starting without a Master’s degree in nursing.
Master’s degree required within five years of hire.
Three (3) or more years of progressive management/leadership experience required.
Five (5) or more years of nursing experience required.
Experience in surgical or cardiovascular care is preferred.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) is required.
Certification in a relevant specialty or nursing administration is required within three (3) years of hire.
Collaborates and builds effective relationships.
Demonstrates strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Independently resolve problems, plan strategically, and think creatively and critically.
Knowledge of best practices, processes laws, regulations, tools, and software with the subject matter of the position.
Strong Analytical skills.
Able to build, motivate, and lead a high-performing team.
