Job Description The primary responsibility for the maintenance technician is to safely keep the plant running, perform PMs on all manufacturing equipment, and perform new installs, etc. Accountabilities and Responsibilities: Will need a comprehensive knowledge of safety rules, manufacturer recommendations, OSHA regulations and general work safety practices. Understand and follow without exception PPE requirements, safe electrical practices, Energy Isolation procedures, HMIS, and other plant safety requirements. Work jointly with production team to ensure that equipment is in safe and efficient operational status at all times. Works individually and jointly with plant team members to perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on production equipment to ensure optimum utilization and process capability. Must be able to interpret and understand basic electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic drawings and functions. Responsible for the maintenance of the spare parts crib in an orderly fashion with utilizing first in/first out methodology. Assist Maintenance Planner in assuring appropriate levels of inventory. Must have strong verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate to all levels. Must be a self-starting, inwardly motivated and proactive individual. Needs to be able to work with a minimum amount of supervision and follow up. Must have the ability to handle stress and the pressures of multiple tasks, demanding schedules and deadlines, diverse personalities, and daily conflicts. Conflict resolution skills are vitally important. Must utilize own personal basic tools and follow proper product safety measures when completing maintenance. Work overtime as required, including to cover vacations. Evaluate our standard operation procedures and recommend improvement opportunities. Must be committed to providing our customers a product that is safe and meets specifications, regulations and statutory requirements.
