Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented and motivated Product Launch Engineer (PLE) who will be part of the AR Product Launch team focused on seamlessly delivering strategic product initiatives to the field. The PLE will support new product launch activities aimed at improving the efficiency and lowering the cost of Amazon’s next-generation Fulfillment and Sort Centers. This position assists the Product Launch Manager in coordinating, communicating, and managing launch activities and for serving as liaison between site Operations, as well as various internal AR organizations. This role will require the ability to work cross functionally, build relationships, analyze data and capture the voice of the customer.

Key job responsibilities

• Support the Product Launch Manager in defining and executing new product launch plans, providing liaison and coordination activities with Fulfillment and Sort Center personnel.

• Coordinate with local site management to ensure proper operator training, procedural compliance, maintenance and safety practices are followed for new systems under test.

• Coordinate Amazon Robotics staff for new product introduction while onsite. This includes system delivery, install, initial checkout, and data collection.

• Partner with Program Managers and Development Leads to troubleshoot issues quickly and maintain launch plans in a dynamic work environment.

• Capture and synthesize the Voice of the Customer (VoC) for all new product introductions and leverage this information to prioritize system defects and lead the triage efforts with product development.

• Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal and external business partners.

• Assist the training manager in organizing, delivering and improving the relevant product training materials.

• Support cross functional launch retrospectives to incorporate lessons learned into future launch plans.

About the team

The Product Launch team is responsible for introducing and testing new AR products and services in the field. We work with Amazon Operations teams to ensure that they and their sites are ready to support extensive field testing of new technologies, and simultaneously we work with the Robotics Program, Development, and Support teams to ensure that the products and services are ready for launch in a live operations environment.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment experience

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level

  • Experience working with and managing third party vendors

  • Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing
