Job Description

The Director of Human Resources, Therapeutics Solutions Division or TSD works in direct partnership with the Global Co. Heads of TSD as well as the TSD Executive Committee and provides strategic guidance, consultation, and support to meet the needs of the business. As a key member of the TSD Executive Committee this position is responsible for providing global strategic Human Resources leadership and direction in the areas of talent management and succession planning, organizational design and development, team and individual performance, workforce planning, employee relations, coaching and policy direction, and compensation planning. This role will partner and collaborate with regional and global human resources teams to accomplish TSD talent and people strategic objectives. This role is also a people leader of global human resources business partners that support global functions within the U.S., groups within the global Technology and Endoscopy Solutions Division or ESD.

Job Duties

  • Designs and implements strategies collaboration with TSD senior leadership to best address business and talent and people objectives. Builds relationships with senior leadership across functions and regions to understand key business strategies initiative and objectives.

  • Collaborates with leadership to create and provide innovative Human Resources solutions.

  • Interfaces and collaborates with global and regional HR organizations to effectuate TSD talent and people related strategies and initiatives.

  • Culture – Provide multi-year strategic direction and leadership for TSD efforts relative to culture transformation (Thriving Culture) and change management. Including recommendations on how to operationalize (funding/resources), link to internal talent and Learning and Development activities.

  • Learning & Development – Identifies training needs and actively supports the career development of employees within TSD. Collaborates with the HR Learning and Development group to develop and deliver training and development programs that are aligned with business objectives.

  • Organizational Design – Lead global TSD efforts around goal and performance management, talent and succession management. Provides consultative guidance in the development of organizational design, culture, high performing teams, and employees building on strengths and competencies of employees.

  • Compensation – Lead compensation planning for TSD and identifies compensation issues and reviews with management and the compensation teams to ensure pay equity and market position.

  • Provides regular HR analytics to TSD leadership to communicate emerging issues and trends and recommends mitigation strategies.

  • Leads, directs, and develops Human Resources staff supporting TSD globally but also ESD and CTO in the U.S.

  • Provides leadership and guidance regarding employee and labor relations in collaboration with Legal and local HR business partners in various regions. Responds to sensitive and confidential issues and concerns raised by all levels of employees in a confidential, timely and objective manner. Responsible for Human Resources investigations when necessary.

  • In conjunction with stakeholders within both the business and Human Resources identifies and recommends changes/improvements to policies and processes and aids in developing new policies and practices that will add value to the organization.

  • Collaborates with Human Resources leadership and peers to strive towards consistent Human Resources policies and practices throughout the organization while representing the needs and strategy of TSD.

  • Regularly visits and interfaces with business leaders and employees in various locations when feasible.

  • Manages overall HR TSD Budget to ensure that costs are managed closely.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or Industrial Regions, business or related field or equivalent knowledge and experience desired; Masters’ degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive combined regional and global HR experience as a strategic HRBP and including 4-5 years as a people leader at the professional level. Experience should include such areas as: talent acquisition, employee relations, L&D/OD, compensation, and benefits. Thorough knowledge of global/regional employment related laws and regulation trends.

  • Progressive Human Resources thinker with the ability to bring creative solutions to the table.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to develop a communication and change plan.

  • Strategic HR capabilities and strategic agility.

  • Ability to forge and maintain strategic business relationships and partnerships on a regular basis.

  • Ability and courage to provide feedback and coaching at all levels in the organization.

  • High energy and be willing to be agile in working across regions and time zones.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects under high pressure.

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail

  • Strong planning and project management skills.

  • Critical thinking to problem solving and consider the impact of proposed solutions of all aspects of the process.

  • Ability to interface with employees at all levels and handle information in a confidential manner.

  • Ability to respond to challenging situations and individuals in a professional courteous manner.

  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point applications is essential.

  • As mentioned this is a global role and will require attending early and late meetings regularly and in accordance with our global working guidelines. Ability to travel by plane 10-15%.
