Sunroc Corporation Lead Field Mechanic - West Valley City in West Valley, Utah
Overview
Sunroc is seeking an experienced Lead Field Mechanic with strong leadership skills and a passion for team development. This role emphasizes effective communication with supervisors, operators, and field mechanics to coordinate and manage repairs. You will take a hands-on approach, assisting your team with diagnostics and providing support where needed. Additionally, you will contribute as a field mechanic, handling repairs directly. We are looking for someone committed to leadership and building a long-term career with us.
Things You’ll Do
Help lead the field mechanic team by dispatching, teaching, and keeping communications
Keep communications between job supervisors and shop supervisor for repair requests and status .
Diagnose, rebuild, and repair vehicles and equipment; perform major engine and transmission repairs and replacements as well as electrical diagnosis.
Perform major electrical repairs (including electronic controls), minor welding repairs, engine and transmission repairs and replacements, as well as equipment and plant maintenance repairs.
Complete road calls and perform field repairs.
Ensure a safe and healthful work environment at all times.
Requirements
5 + years experience as a heavy equipment mechanic.
1+ years leading a team
Must be able to obtain a department of transportation (DOT) medical card .
Valid driver's license and c lean driving record .
CDL is a plus but not necessary
Ability to move at least 50 pounds.
