Intermountain Health Cybersecurity Cloud Engineer Senior in Albany, New York

Job Description:

The Cloud Security Engineer is responsible for the security operations in the cloud infrastructure, applications, platforms and monitoring/alerting. This individual is also responsible for maintaining enterprise standards and following established security industry standards. Fully functioning professional experienced in aspects of cybersecurity technologies and systems. Functions independently and produces results that meet standards of quality, timeliness and acceptability with minimal supervision and general direction.

Remote/hybrid work - we may hire out of state workers where state laws allow.

We will hire at Senior or Consultant level depending on qualifications. (see below)

  • Demonstrated thorough experience in Azure cloud management aspects and cloud security methods

  • Solid understanding of services and capabilities delivered by mainstream cloud service providers

  • ​​Strong knowledge of industry standards and techniques in development and testing

  • Proven ability to incorporate security tools/components into a DevOps pipeline.

  • Bash / PowerShell Scripting

  • Proven ability to automate security component and policy changes

  • Proven ability to quickly learn and experiment with new security related cloud technologies and tools.

  • Proven ability to design end-to-end security patterns and solutions that may include on-premise and cloud resources that meet enterprise security policies and best practices.

  • Passion for new emerging technology in the cloud security space

  • Ability to influence technical discussions and decisions

  • Ability to perform security research and document and communicate the findings of their research

  • Strong work ethic and sense of urgency

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in information systems/security technologies and systems.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the eight CISSP domains.

  • Demonstrated understanding of Cybersecurity methods and techniques of information systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or technology-related field, or equivalent experience

  • Senior: 5-8 years related experience and demonstrated knowledge/ability

  • Consultant 9-10 years related experience

  • Strong skills with Docker or container technologies.

  • An understanding of Kubernetes, or AKS.

  • Experience with GitHub, BitBucket, Wiz, ServiceNow, Atlassian, or any other industry proven CI/CD tool.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.

  • Advanced knowledge of performance, scalability and system architecture with an eye toward avoiding and reducing technical debt.

  • Healthcare related software development and/or system administration experience.

  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Highly self-motivated and directed.

  • Keen attention to detail.

  • Proven experience working in product driven environment.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$47.80 - $75.25
