Wages and Benefits $23.00 - $25.00 per hour; Mileage & drive-time reimbursement; 4 paid holidays; competitive dental, and vision insurance; voluntary life insurance; retirement plan with a 3% employer match and immediate vesting; To help applicants meet FMCSA/DOT requirements, DARTS provides Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) for those pursuing a Commercial Driver s License (CDL) with a Passenger Endorsement. A Typical Day in the Life A typical day as DARTS Class C-CDL Driver provides an opportunity to help seniors remain in the home of their choosing. This is a part-time position that works up to 20 hours per week. Responsibilities will include the following: Driving safely and obeying all traffic laws. Maintaining communication with dispatch. Always ensuring passenger and vehicle safety. Providing passenger assistance when needed. Following requirements for vehicle inspections, daily logs and accident reporting. Who You Are You can maintain a good driving record before and during employment. You hold a Class C-CDL License with Passenger Endorsement. However, DARTS offers training for applicants with a CDL Learner s Permit. You can provide a current DOT Medical Card or pass a DOT physical examination after a contingent job offer has been made. Pass subsequent physicals at DOT-specified intervals. You are able to follow DARTS' Substance Abuse Policy, which includes passing a urine drug test after a contingent job offer has been made and participating in the random drug and alcohol-testing program during employment. Passing is defined as a verified, negative test result. You have the physical strength to help passengers using mobility devices (e.g., wheelchairs, scooters, walkers). Includes bending, squatting or kneeling to secure mobility devices to the floor. You are physically able to push/pull 175-400 pounds up or down inclines. You can help ambulatory passengers up and down stairs. You are able to step up approximately 20 to enter the bus multiple times per shift. You can effectively navigate streets, roads and highways within the service area. You can work independently with limited supervision. You provide excellent customer service and can maintain client confidentiality. You have a desire to assist and work with older adults. You can maintain Special Transportation Services Certified training - initial and recurrent training provided by DARTS. You have a valid driver s license and the ability to meet DARTS s driving record requirements, or access to reliable transportation. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit.
