West Seneca Central School District Music Teacher (Instrumental/Orchestra) - Substitute in West Seneca, New York
The West Seneca Central School District is looking for an individual to provide Instrumental (Orchestra) instruction for students at the elementary and middle school grade levels. The successful candidate must hold NYS certification in Music education.
This is a full-time, temporary substitute position anticipated to begin as soon as possible through a date to be determined. This position could extend to a long-term substitute appointment with salary and benefits paid according to the West Seneca Teacher's Association collective bargaining agreement, commensurate and prorated to the appointment timeframe.
Required Certification: Music PreK-12
Job Qualifications
Experience and Skills Preferred:
Knowledge of teaching music in a differentiated format
Ability to demonstrate and perform on orchestra primary and secondary instrument(s)
Experience with a variety of classroom management skills and behavior intervention programs
Knowledge of program modifications, testing accommodations and supplementary aides
Strong computer and communication skills
Ability to collaborate and work with other members of the department
Instrumental (Orchestra) conducting experience preferred
The candidate must be able to demonstrate planning and preparation, instructional skills; effective classroom management and be motivated to engage in continuous professional development.
A music teacher is responsible for creating a safe, stimulating and nuturing learning environment and to assist every student in reaching his/her potential.
