The Senior Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for performing all routine process equipment maintenance and repairs and providing excellent customer service and support for our on-site employees and manufacturing operations.
This position is part of the Microbiology Operating Company located in West Sacramento and will be on-site. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.
You will be a part of the Equipment Maintenance Team and report to the Sr. Manager of Engineering, Maintenance & Facilities responsible for maintenance of manufacturing equipment, maintaining spare parts inventory, and assisting with routine & emergency work requests. This is a third shift position with typical hours of 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Monday through Friday.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Responsibilities include safely and effectively troubleshooting, diagnosing/repairing, and maintaining process equipment lines such as printing, filling, drying, packaging, glass washing, and autoclaving.
Participate in and perform process equipment emergency and non-emergency repairs, scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, spare parts organization, part fabrication, and complete assigned work orders on time.
Participate in and perform a multitude of tasks including (but not limited to) routine equipment maintenance, opening/closing work requests, completing work order required documentation, completing required training, participating in Kaizen events/initiatives, and completing all assigned work requests on time.
The essential requirements of the job include:
HS diploma or equivalent is required. Certifications in Electrical, Mechanical, Welding, or other relevant job skills is preferred.
At least 4 years of successful experience working as a Maintenance Technician/Mechanic in a manufacturing/production environment.
Previous electrical/mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience is required. Must be able to safely and effectively troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing process equipment. These repairs may include the use of basic hand tools as well as a mill, lathe, drill press, and/or welding equipment.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Manufacturing/Production environment, medical device manufacturing and/or other FDA-regulated industry.
Using a computer to send and receive e-mails, open and update work orders, enter timesheet information, and ability to learn and utilize computerized work order and PM systems (CMMS).
Welding and metal parts fabrication.
The hourly range for this role is $36 - $38 per hour. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
