Amentum Senior Software Developer in West Palm Beach, Florida
Amentum is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join our team in West Palm Beach, FL ( r emote support will be considered ) to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) mission. The Senior Software Developer will be responsible for project oversight as well as hands on development of in-house built web-based applications and supporting primary business applications on the AUTEC project. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work through the entire software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, integration, user training, and application maintenance.
Analyze and understand customer requirements and software design objectives.
Develop functional specifications.
Implement secure coding practices and maintain software code in compliance with DoD IA mandates.
Architect, design, and implement .NET web-based solutions.
Follow established configuration management processes to maintain source code control.
Perform code reviews.
Perform unit testing.
Participate in various other types of testing, including end user testing support.
Provide technical guidance and oversight to other members of the development team.
Train users as necessary.
Troubleshoot production applications.
Willingness to mentor and share knowledge.
Occasional travel to Andros Island, Bahamas will be necessary.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline or equivalent.
5 years related experience working in software development focusing mainly on the Microsoft.Net environment.
Experience with ASP.Net and C#.
Experience with relational databases.
CompTIA Security+ CE certification.
Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
Proven leadership and project management skills.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Experience learning systems and business models in a fast-paced environment.
Is self-managed, takes initiative, and can manage customer expectations for support.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate at all levels to include management, developers, testers, and customers/users.
Valid a passport will be required.
This position requires the individual to be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government secret security clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
VB.Net experience would be considered in lieu of C#.
Strong experience with SQL Server is preferred.
Experience with SQL Reporting Services is considered a plus.
Experience with Power BI is considered a plus.
