Job Summary: The Director of Permitting is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire permitting process for all construction, development, and infrastructure projects within the organization. This leadership role ensures that all necessary permits and approvals are secured in a timely and compliant manner, aligning with project schedules, municipal regulations, and company goals. The Director of Permitting will liaise with governmental agencies, internal teams, and external stakeholders to facilitate efficient permit acquisition and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Construction Management, Public Administration, or a related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in permitting, project management, or construction within the real estate or development industry.

  • In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal permitting processes and building codes.

  • strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and prioritize competing demands.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing permit timelines and documentation.

  • Ability to anticipate challenges, provide solutions, and lead negotiations with regulatory agencies.

  • Proficiency with permitting and project management software.

Preferred:

  • Experience in navigating environmental regulations and public hearings.

  • Advanced degree or certifications in urban planning, law, or related fields.

  • Familiarity with sustainable development and green building certifications.

salary: $90,000 - $130,000 per year

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the permitting process for multiple large-scale construction and development projects.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.

  • Ensure compliance with zoning, environmental, building, and other regulatory codes.

  • Oversee the preparation, submission, and tracking of all permit applications and documentation.

  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and legal teams to address permit-related issues.

  • Provide strategic advice on permitting timelines, potential challenges, and risk mitigation.

  • Ensure all project permits are acquired within the required timeframes to avoid delays.

  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory updates.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for government authorities, community groups, and other stakeholders regarding permitting.

  • Train and mentor team members on regulatory changes and best practices in permitting processes.
