Job Title: Database Systems Administrator

Overview: The Database Systems Administrator at the Science Center plays a pivotal role in managing various software systems essential for the organization's operations. This role involves overseeing systems such as Centaman, Giftlogic, Campsite, Bloomerang, Board Effect, and the legacy Drupal website. The Database Systems Administrator acts as a liaison between departments to update and maintain their information and programs, ensuring seamless operations across the organization. Additionally, they are responsible for ensuring online admissions and program registrations are available and functioning smoothly. Regular reporting on performance metrics such as admissions, program registrations, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) is also part of this role.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage Software Systems: Oversee and maintain various software systems utilized by the Science Center, including Centaman, Giftlogic, Campsite, Bloomerang, Board Effect, and the legacy Drupal website.

  2. Liaison with Departments: Act as a liaison between different departments to update and maintain their information and programs within the software systems. Collaborate closely with department heads to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

  3. Online Admissions and Program Registrations: Ensure that admissions and program registrations are available online and functioning properly. Troubleshoot any issues that may arise and implement solutions to improve user experience.

  4. Performance Reporting: Generate regular reports on performance metrics such as admissions, program registrations, and other KPIs. Provide insights and analysis to stakeholders to support decision-making processes.

  5. System Maintenance and Upgrades: Coordinate with IT and relevant vendors to ensure the smooth operation, maintenance, and upgrades of software systems. Stay updated on latest software developments and recommend upgrades or enhancements as needed.

  6. User Training and Support: Provide training and support to staff members on the use of software systems. Address any user inquiries or issues in a timely and efficient manner.

a. Develop Training Materials: Create comprehensive training materials, including user guides, manuals, and tutorials.

b. Conduct Customized Training Programs: Recognizing that different departments may have varying levels of proficiency and specific requirements; the administrator will develop customized training programs to address these differences.

c. Help Desk Services: Serve as the primary point of contact for staff members seeking assistance with the software systems and forward on larger issues to third-party providers when applicable.

  1. Data Security and Compliance: Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations and policies when handling sensitive information within the software systems. Implement measures to safeguard data integrity and privacy.

Qualifications:

? Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
