Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Mechanical Engineer opportunity in West Milton, NY. Our company is looking for a Mechanical Engineer member to join our Shipping Container Recapitalization team. The Mechanical Engineer member will perform engineering evaluations in support of the design, analysis, or testing of a new radiological shipping container or shipping container support equipment. Responsibilities may include sponsoring test programs, performing elastic and elastic-plastic structural analysis, developing designs and engineering drawings, performing alignment & tolerance studies (fit-up analysis) or developing design specifications. The engineer should have experience with mechanical equipment design, structural analysis, or testing. Additionally, the engineer may support engineering and business activities of the Reactor Servicing organization, as needed.RequirementsActive or recently Active DOE or DOD clearance.Minimum four year BS degree in engineering5+ years of experience Microsoft OfficeMechanical Design, Structural Analysis, or Testing ProgramsStrong written and verbal communication skillsTechnical writingHighly PreferredFamiliarity with radiological material shipping containers and/orSafety Analysis Reports for Packaging (SARPs)Familiarity with 10CFR71Mechanical or thermal testingAlignment and tolerance studies or fit-up studiesDeveloping engineering drawings or specificationsAbaqus/Standard, Abaqus/Explicit, or other similar FEA softwareElastic-Plastic Structural AnalysisStructural and thermal materials expertiseMechanical automationsPython scriptingCompensation:Salary is commensurate with education and experience and may range between $110,000 to $200,000 annually.Edgewater is committed to recruiting and maintaining a staff of highly skilled professionals to support our customers.
