Job Description

At the Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL), we are committed to delivering top-notch IT solutions and support to our clients. Our dynamic team is dedicated to innovation and excellence in technology. We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented System Administrator to join our team and contribute to our mission of providing exceptional IT services. As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining our Microsoft Office suite, Exchange, Skype, and Office 365 environments. You will work closely with our IT team to ensure the smooth operation of our systems and provide assistance to end-users. This role is ideal for someone with a foundational understanding of IT systems and a passion for learning and growing in the field of system administration. Key Responsibilities: Microsoft Office Support: Assist in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Microsoft Office applications. Provide support for Office-related issues, including software updates and user account management. Exchange Administration: Support Exchange Server administration tasks, including user mailbox management and troubleshooting email issues. Assist in monitoring and maintaining Exchange Server performance and availability. Skype for Business: Help manage Skype for Business deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting. Provide support for Skype for Business-related issues, including connectivity and user account issues. Office 365 Administration: Assist with the setup, configuration, and management of Office 365 services. Support users with Office 365 applications, including Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive. General IT Support: Provide first-line support to end-users, addressing technical issues and escalating as needed. Assist in maintaining documentation and knowledge base articles for IT processes and procedures.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

Preferred Skills

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Office 365. Familiarity with Exchange Server and Skype for Business. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals CompTIA A+ or Network+

Pay Range $68,800.00 - $105,300.00 annually Salary information provided is a general guide line only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory p rsonnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston. FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations. For nearly 70 years, the Naval Nuclear Laboratory has developed advanced nuclear propulsion technology, provided technical support, and trained world-class nuclear operators to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is a national asset solely dedicated to the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.
