Job Description
The Training Simulator Testing unit is responsible for deploying state-of-the-art, high fidelity simulators for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP). These simulators fulfill a critical training need to ensure effective and efficient qualification of Naval Nuclear Operators in the NNPP training program. In this position, the engineer will support aspects of initial design, testing, and deployment of the simulators to the NNPP training commands in Charleston, SC and West Milton, NY. This position has high visibility and will require close interaction and coordination with other engineers at NNL as well as interfacing with external organizations, including Naval Reactors. Relocation is offered. This position will require some travel (10%).
Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; or
- Bachelor's degree in a technical related field from an accredited college or university with qualification as a Naval Nuclear Plant Operator and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience based on an exceptional performance trend; or
- Master's degree in engineering or a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience; or
- Master's degree in a technical related field from an accredited college or university with qualification as a Naval Nuclear Plant Operator and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience based on an exceptional performance trend; or
- Currently or previously Shift Supervisor Part II qualified; or qualified SIT and 3 years EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or Currently or previously CRE qualified; or 6 years as SRE; or SRE qualified and 9 years of experience.
Preferred Skills
- Experience conducting a shipboard or simulator test program
- S9G mechanic experience or comparable experience

Pay Range $103,100.00 - $161,100.00 annually Salary information provided is a general guide line only.
