Schedule: Various 6 and 12 hr shifts; Monday thru Friday; Rotating Weekends

Responsibilities
Provide care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, functioning within scope of license.
Contribute to the assessment of patients and assures the well-being of patients.
Administer medications and observes patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
Perform laboratory tests and therapeutic services
Educate patients/families about disease treatment plan including self care post discharge, holistic health needs, available resources and follow up care.
Act as a resource within the clinic to other staff members in regards to patient care. Acts as a resource for facilitating communication when necessary.
Assists in the development and/or delivery of orientation and/or education processes for patients and staff.
Document delivery of health care and nursing process in accordance with policies and procedures in a timely, accurate and consistent manner. Reports abnormal critical health data. Coordinates and delegates the timely processing of patient referrals necessary for the delivery of patient care. Utilizes the nursing process to facilitate appropriate nursing interventions during client triage.
Coordinate and delegates the delivery of patient care provided by selected members of the health care team. Coordinate and delegate the assignments of routine tasks needed in order to keep the clinic operational to selected members of the clinic staff. Facilitates coordination of services with the non-medical clinic staff to obtain optimum patient flow and increased patient satisfaction.
Perform other duties as assigned.
May be required to be "on-call."
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Drivers License preferred.
Education:
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
Additional Preferences
- LVN/LPN experience preferred.
