Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Welding Supervisor to oversee our team of welders. In this role, you will demonstrate your experience and expertise in the welding field while leading and managing your team. The Welding Supervisor is responsible for scheduling jobs, quoting estimates, cooperating with other departments, supervising projects, training, and ensuring safety measures. The ability to demonstrate thorough knowledge stick welding, MIG and TIG welding, and blueprints interpretation is essential in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the daily operations of the welding team and ensuring all tasks are aligned with project specifications and timelines.

  • Managing commitments in terms of quality, cost, and deadline for welding activities.

  • Supervising and mentoring the team of welders and conducting performance assessments.

  • Ensuring all safety regulations and company policies are strictly adhered to by the team to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Inspecting completed welds to ensure they adhere to standards and procedures.

  • Assisting in recruiting and training new welding personnel.

  • Recommending solutions when faced with technical problems related to welding.

  • Reading and interpreting project plans, blueprints, and other written instructions and diagrams to perform tasks at hand.

  • Communicating with project managers, engineers and other stakeholders on project status.

  • Physical Requirements:

The ability to stand for long periods of time, to lift heavy objects, and work in various weather conditions.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required. A bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, production, or relevant field is preferred.

  • A welding certification is required.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role with sufficient supervising experience.

  • Extensive knowledge in various welding techniques, including MIG and TIG welding.

  • Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and other technical documents.

  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills.

  • Excellent communication skill and problem-solving aptitude.

  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding and construction.
