Job Title: Manufacturing Scheduling Coordinator

Position Summary
The Manufacturing Scheduling Coordinator performs detailed scheduling of manufacturing work orders and assures materials and components are available and/or prepared to implement the schedule. The Manufacturing Scheduling Coordinator works in partnership with Supply Chain Planners as well as other Manufacturing groups to enhance utilization of manufacturing hours and meet demand schedules within the capacity plan. Additional expectations include improving the following metrics: Timely and complete delivery of products (OTIF), backorder management, schedule attainment, and resource utilization, through the implementation of continuous process improvement. May perform hands-on manufacturing tasks as needed to maintain schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Develop detailed schedules to implement manufacturing work orders for punctual delivery of product
Monitor key performance indicators such as schedule adherence, resource utilization, and capacity plan fulfillment; prepare critical metric reports
Release Work Orders in ERP system and follow-up on open Work Orders to ensure completion
Perform manufacturing tasks that support Work Order execution such as label printing and direct manufacturing task, e.g., the set-up and operation of equipment of moderate complexity
Assist with timely and accurate capacity planning designed to improve throughput
Assist with the coordination of new product introductions as assigned
Provide input to management to reschedule in case of design changes, labor and material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions
Implement ERP system material master changes, product structures, BOMs and router information
Attend management meetings and provide status updates on scheduling and manufacturing issues
Ensure the most efficient resource utilization via continuous communication and partnering with collaborators including Supply Chain, R&D, Quality and others
Establish and optimize standard work/ SOPs related to area of responsibility
Manage physical inventories as required
Perform other duties as assigned within the context of demonstrated skills
Minimum Requirements:
A combination of education and experience that confer the required ERP/scheduling and manufacturing skills. Manufacturing Scheduling Coordinators typically have these credentials:
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, biological sciences or combination of education and experience, i.e., (preferred)
high school diploma along with and relevant experience required
0+ yrs Solid understanding of ERP/MES system such as SAP
Experience at manufacturing floor-level scheduling
Experience working on several projects or issues simultaneously in a matrixed environment
Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, & Outlook, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a GMP or regulated environment
Continuous improvement training/ experience in Lean Systems, DMAIC, Six Sigma or similar
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Normal office and manufacturing environment with lab coat and PPE gowning requirement
Position will require sitting, standing/ walking for prolonged periods of time
Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $23.04–$34.56.
