Job Summary:

Performs a variety of accounting activities related to the payment and receipt of money; computes, classifies, records, and reconciles transactions into the company’s financial accounting systems. Checks transactions to locate and resolve discrepancies and handles accounts payables. Applies a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.

Summary of Essential Job Duties:

  • Records, classifies, and summarizes accounting transactions.

  • Compiles various documents, verifies their accuracy, and authorizes payments in accordance with established procedures.

  • Handles accounts payables

  • Comfortable with data entry.

  • Assembles documents for computer input, verifying accuracy of itemized charges, account numbers, and total costs.

  • Selects correct accounts; posts, verifies, and balances debit and credit entries.

  • Reconciles accounts and assists in the compilation of reports.

  • Applies a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations’ verifies documents for completeness and compliance with government and private agencies.

  • Performs arithmetic calculations.

  • Maintains records through filing, retrieval, retention, storage, compilation, coding, udating, and purging.

  • Responds to inquiries. Checks accounting transactions to locate and resolve discrepancies.

Additional Job Duties:

  • Provides accounting services to staff and individuals or organizations outside of the company, such as government agencies and banks.

  • Uses various software applications, such as spreadsheets and relational databases to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.

  • Completes month end reconciliations.

  • DMR Accruals.

Requirements and Competencies:

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents. Ability to communicate effectively to team members and management.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts.

Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma Required.

  • Preferred: Associates degree in accounting, business, or equivalent experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Pursuant to ITAR, EAR, and other export compliance laws and regulations, applicants for this position must be U.S. Persons as defined by U.S. law, i.e., U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents ("Green Card" holders), persons granted refugee status or asylum status in the United States, or temporary residents granted amnesty.

Work Requirements:

Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Professional office environment with routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machine; noise level typical of a standard office environment

  • Prolonged sitting, computer and telephone use, as well as standing, filing, bending, reaching and lifting and carrying up to 15 pounds

  • Occasional exposure to manufacturing plant floor requiring the use of personal protective equipment (ear plugs, safety glasses, etc.)
