Description We are seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of a Patient Registration Specialist in our healthcare organization based in West Haven, Connecticut. The role primarily involves managing patient registrations, handling heavy scheduling tasks, and maintaining accurate patient records. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity and is a key function within our healthcare and social assistance industry setting.

Responsibilities:

• Handle patient check-in and registration in a timely and efficient manner • Manage heavy scheduling tasks ensuring smooth operation of daily activities • Collect, verify, and update insurance information as needed • Document all communication with internal staff, patients, insurance companies, and physicians to ensure clear and concise records • Use strong computer and communication skills to efficiently manage tasks and communicate with patients and staff • Handle high volume medical scheduling tasks with accuracy and efficiency • Assist patients in a detail oriented and courteous manner to ensure their needs are met • Utilize EPIC software for various tasks and processes related to patient registration • Maintain accuracy of all patient records and ensure that they are updated regularly • Resolve any patient registration issues or inquiries in a timely and effective manner. Requirements • Candidate must have prior experience in the healthcare, hospital, or social assistance industry.

• Familiarity with patient registration processes and protocols is necessary.

• The ability to assist patients in a courteous and detail oriented manner is required.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for this role.

• A high level of attention to detail and accuracy is expected.

• The candidate should have the ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and integrity.

• Proficiency in using computer systems for data entry and patient management is a must.

• The individual should be able to work well in a team and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.

• The ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively is needed.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure are desirable.

• The candidate should have a good understanding of medical terminologies.

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required, a higher degree in a relevant field is preferred.

• Bilingual or multilingual skills could be advantageous in assisting a diverse patient population.
