This is an outpatient cardiology clinic that performs stress myocardial perfusion studies. The technologists work closely with stress nurses/paramedics. Some of the responsibilities would include but not limited to daily qc, starting patients, imaging patients, injecting patients while be stressed. Traveling to other clinics is required periodically. This would be mostly to Ankeny, Ames or Ottumwa and much less to Carroll or Webster City.

Shift: Days (NO call, nights, holidays or weekends)

What you will do:

· Administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients according to protocol.

· Accesses venous puncture for saline lock insertion.

· Performs daily quality control and safety procedures and maintains accurate records.

· Administers patient care within the scope of practice for a nuclear medicine technologist.

· Participates in ALARA Program, following appropriate protocols.

· Keeps current with NRC/OSHA/IDPH/ICANL regulations and updates.

· Maintain and monitors supplies including radiopharmaceuticals.

· Assists with Clinical/Didactic Training of Nuclear Medicine students, including Iowa Heart Center and Mercy College.

· Responsible for completion of IHC Nuclear competencies.

· Required to travel to other IHC offices as needed.

· Operate required vehicle(s) in a safe manner to perform required duties of the position.

Qualifications:

· Successful completion of ARRT (R) and/or (N) and/or NMTCB.

· ARRT and/or CNMT certified preferred

· Current State of Iowa Permit to Practice Nuclear Medicine

· Valid Iowa Driver’s/Chauffeurs License required, must meet Mercy’s Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, must be at least 18 years of age and be eligible to drive per Iowa state law.

· Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.

· Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
