Regional Quality Managers (Individual Contributor Rolenot managerial) to develop practical and innovative ways to drive in- process and finished product quality improvement for Polyurethane pouring and fabrication products and materials used for specialized medical, technical, automotive and comfort solutions by leveraging experience in complex chemical formulations process via:

  1. Incorporating VOE, VOC, customer complaint trends, in- process audit data. into product and process design and equipment selection plan; to improve formulation and process by working cross functionally with R & D and foam technology team.
  2. Initiating/facilitating operator training and certification program through effective facilitation and closure of manufacturing quality issues using robust corrective actions within the parameters of the quality management system (QMS) and data driven decision making; and
  3. Process standardization across the company for core manufacturing and testing processes.
  4. Apply experience creating technical specifications and design of experiments (DOEs) for foam used in medical, technical, automotive and comfort industry.

Work closely with Plant Managers & Plant Quality Manager to:

  • Improve foam formulation/chemistry and optimize mechanical controls and devices to achieve the best possible yield with highest quality of foam to meet regulatory and customer expectations.
  • Drive customer focused manufacturing quality improvement projects to drive out cost of non-conformances, scrap and support realization of improved performance.
  • Implement and assure compliance with the requirements of FXI QMS, ISO:9001, IATF-16949 at plants in assigned region.
  • Prepare advanced quality planning documents and participate in quality planning activities, including Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEAs),Quality Function Deployment (QFD), production Part Approval Process (PPAP), calibration, process Flow Diagrams, process control plans, Control Charts and Gage R&R studies using Minitab software to improve product specifications and production process.
  • Apply understanding of metrology, statistics, and statistical methods for foam physical properties using Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods.
  • Independently perform testing of foam IFD, Density, airflow, recovery rate, compression set testing, TB-117 (testing for Federal and California) and leverage the skillset to train others, using specialized equipment in the lab.
  • Apply experience and ability to read and interpret third party testing report on CFR1632, CFR1633 and make recommendations to improve product or process performance.
  • Using the key metrics data, develop improvement plan, present it to plant leadership teams and facilitate implementation.
  • Provide quality engineering expertise and utilize specialized skills learned in chemical formulations and mechanical controls of foam pouring in large commercial plants in the quality arena.
  • Drive corrective and preventive action program, from initiation to resolution of items to enhance customer satisfaction and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with plant quality managers to manage and implement engineering changes, process improvements and new part or product introductions/launches.
  • Deliver results as measured by key metrics including defect rates parts per million (PPM), returned credits, cost of quality and corrective action closure, and customer satisfaction.
  • Incorporate Lean Methodology into process improvement to improve product quality.
