Summary:

  • The Senior Director, Operations is responsible for strategic planning and daily operational oversight across an assigned portfolio of programs and departments at Chester County Hospital (CCH). Reporting to the Vice President, Operations, this role ensures alignment with broader health system practices and leads key initiatives, including the CCH Operational Excellence program and strategic planning processes.This assigned portfolio includes a wide range of services, from clinical departments to support functions, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality patient and staff experiences. The Senior Director collaborates with leadership and stakeholders to drive organizational goals and maintain alignment with Penn Medicine's standards.A strong leader with critical thinking skills, the Senior Director plays a key role in strategic initiatives and serves as an advisor to the CCH Executive Leadership Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Oversight: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory standards, including TJC, DOH, FDA, HIPAA, and others. Oversee the environment of care, maintaining interfaces with State Departments of Health, CMS or deemed authorities (e.g., Joint Commission), local authorities, utility companies, funding agencies, and regulatory bodies.Human Resources: Ensure direct reports are fulfilling human resources responsibilities, including recruitment, mentoring, staff retention, orientation, credentialing, and the initiation and annual completion of the performance appraisal process.Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership for clinical ancillary departments, support services, and service lines in collaboration with corporate service partners and peer departments across the health system.Operational Excellence and Planning: Offer strategic oversight or active involvement in the CCH Operational Excellence program, 1-Year Strategic and Operational Planning process, and master facility plan, collaborating with internal CCH and Service Line leadership, physicians, key regional leaders, and other stakeholders.Program and Service Development: Collaborate with UPHS leadership, clinical leadership, and entity leadership to develop programs, services, and initiatives that anticipate future customer needs, enhance customer loyalty, and drive profitable growth.Operational Integration: Set standards and drive the operational integration of programs by ensuring alignment of communication with clinical leadership.Financial Management: Ensure efficient economic performance by setting financial objectives and overseeing the planning and control of operational and capital budgets.Technology Infrastructure Development: Facilitate the development of technology infrastructure and planning for programs and departments in partnership with UPHS and PMCCH EIO.Real Estate and Lease Management: Interface with corporate services to manage leases and real estate for the CCH campus and programs. Act as landlord for internal leases and private tenants and as tenant for major programs under external lease agreements, with key interfaces involving Legal and Real Estate services.Capital Project Oversight and Master Planning: Participate in campus master planning and provide oversight for CCH capital projects.Operational Support and Daily Management: Support and manage daily operations as necessary, ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day functioning of departments and programs. Address operational issues promptly and provide support to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality services.Operational Excellence Participation: Engage actively in the Operational Excellence program and contribute to the 1-Year Strategic and Operational Planning process.

Credentials:

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)

  • Education Specialization:Health Administration, Business Administration or similar healthcare related degreeEquivalent Experience:•And 5+ years Operational experience at the hospital administrative level.
