Plas-Tech Coatings, Inc. is recognized as a leader in the application of Teflon®, Xylan®, Halar® and other high performance fluoropolymer and powder coatings. Plas-Tech has been recommending and applying coatings since 1978.As a Shop Laborer, you'll be doing a variety of tasks, depending on our customer's needs. Precision masking and grit blasting parts composed of metal and other materials is an important part of our process which you'll be heavily involved in.You'll be reading and following special work instruction sheets and using a computer to log your progress. You'll be comfortable reading blueprints or drawings and will inspect parts for quality and correctness at all stages of the work process. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will follow shop procedures and policies, keeping your work place organized and work in a safe manner using safety equipment. Some other tasks you will complete are include:Measuring and packaging customer orders to ensure compliance with customer specifications and safety of parts in transit to the customer.Basic equipment repair and maintenance.Cleaning of work area at the end of assigned shift.Completing time logs and other log sheets. Operation of dip spin machine.You will take great satisfaction in the quality results you achieve and will be able to able to work efficiently with others and on solo projects.
*Shift: 6:00am- 2:45pm M-F or * 1:00pm- 11:45pm M-Th
Qualifications and skills: Required: Basic Computer skillsAbility to work in an industrial environment with proper personal protection equipment including a respirator.Basic Mathematical Skills
Preferred: ERP software experienceGrit Blasting experience1 Year experience in a manufacturing environment. Coating application ExperienceBlueprint reading skillsKnowledge of tools and machinery used in coating processes e.g. gritblasting, masking, powder coating, liquid sprayPacking experience
Physical Demands & Working Conditions: Location: 100% Shop floor. While on the shop floor, there is intermittent exposure to noise, grease, dust, oil, grime and chemicals. There is frequent exposure to seasonal temperature extremes. Work around moving equipment requires caution as well as use of safety apparel.Work requires frequent use of large motor skills, standing for long periods, and frequent bending, stooping, twisting, turning, crouching, stretching and reaching to perform work required.
