GE Aerospace Commercial Engines Operational Controller in West Chester, Ohio

Job Description Summary

The Commercial Engines Operational Controller will be responsible for supporting GE Aerospace’s strategic priority of a Lean monthly close that generates accurate, timely and GAAP-compliant financial information for use by internal and external stakeholders. This role will serve as the primary operational accounting point of contact for CEO controllership, with dedicated responsibility over the GE90, CF6 and GE9X product lines. Key responsibilities include driving operational accounting compliance with U.S. GAAP standards, maintaining financial and operational internal controls, leading accounting process simplification, and driving the implementation of FLIGHT DECK through the development of standard work and structured problem solving.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and accurate financial reporting information for use within and outside of the GE Aerospace Commercial Engines division. This includes the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet commentary and quarterly data requests.

  • Partner with the Commercial Engines Global Controller on priority setting, KPI development and tracking, creating and maintaining SOPs, and maintaining the CEO Controllership calendar.

  • Stand up the accounting processes required for GE9X entry into service, including revenue recognition, RSP accounting, and royalty payments.

  • Serve as a people leader to a team of at least two direct reports.

  • Manage the CEO Controllership relationship with Genpact, including discussions over resourcing and feedback on team performance.

  • Partner with the Commercial Engines Global Controller on strategic initiatives, such as ERP modernization, closing cycle time reduction, etc.

  • Ensure internal controls over financial reporting are designed and operating effectively in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).

  • Drive consistent adherence to U.S. GAAP, GE GAP, and GE Aerospace SOPs.

  • Drive adoption of FLIGHT DECK through consistent application of Lean principles, the development of standard work, and the use of structured problem solving.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university or college

  • 8-10 years of experience in accounting

  • Strong project management skills

  • Master’s degree in accounting and/or Certified Public Accountant

  • Proven analytical and organizational ability
