Description

We are seeking an Attorney with Construction Law experience for a company in the Cincinnati area.

A construction law attorney is a legal professional who specializes in the complex legalities surrounding construction projects. Their duties can be split into two main categories: transactional and litigation.

Transactional duties involve advising clients on legal matters throughout the various phases of a construction project. This can include:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating construction contracts

  • Representing a variety of clients in the construction industry, such as owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, and architects

  • Collaborating with other legal professionals to ensure all legal aspects of the project are covered, such as financing and regulatory compliance

  • Obtaining permits and approvals from relevant authorities

Litigation duties come into play when disputes arise during a construction project. A construction law attorney can:

  • Represent clients in various forms of dispute resolution, including negotiation, mediation, and arbitration

  • Litigate construction disputes in court, involving issues like breach of contract, payment disagreements, or construction defects

  • Advise clients on legal matters related to construction accidents and safety violations

To be successful in this field, construction law attorneys need a strong understanding of construction contracts, industry regulations, and dispute resolution procedures. They should also possess excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

  • Excellent academic credentials and references

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, to prioritize client matters and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

  • Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction law

  • Knowledge of Commercial Contracts

  • Must possess analytical, legal research and writing skills

  • Licensed attorney
