Description
Accountemps currently has an opening for an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk. This Accounting Clerk position offers an opportunity to become an essential part of International Construction Company. This Accounts Payable Clerk role will be located in the West Caldwell, New Jersey area and will be a long-term temporary position. Career growth and quick advancement is available in this progressive department. The Accounts Payable Clerk matches and batches code, resolves A/P issues, processes expense reports, updates and reconciles sub-ledger to G/L, and processes checks.
Major responsibilities
Ensure invoices, checks, and other documents are properly sorted, logged, scanned, and filed
Validate, record and send checks, including expediting special handling
Complete special projects on an as-needed basis
Produce full-cycle A/P
Ensure compliance with company policies while carrying out daily processes and controls accurately and on time
Provide support during internal and external audits
Assist the AP/Finance Department with administrative tasks
Provide support to internal business partners
Handle daily department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it
Requirements
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Prior experience in an A/P role preferred
Articulate customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds
