Scheduled Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
Minimum Starting Wage:
LPN- $25.14
CMA- $20.78
Job Description:
Assists the medical provider in the care and treatment of patients. Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician/ physician assistant.
Qualifications:
LPN Requirements:
Licensed Practical Nurse licensed in the State of Iowa
Maintains valid licensure/certification/registration*
CMA Requirements:
Certified Medical Assistant through AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants), NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing), NHA (National Healthcareer Association) or AMT (American Medical Technologists). In lieu of certification, has completed the Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE) through AAMA.
May be licensed by the State of Iowa as a Registered Care Practitioner (RRT or CRT) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) if not a Medical Assistant.
Maintains valid licensure/certification/registration*
Preferred:
One year experience in a medical office preferred
