JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Tool & Die Associate serves a key role in Federal's ability to satisfy the needs of our customers by planning and performing difficult machine set-ups and operations to produce a variety of tool, die and fixture parts and details having several related dimensions of close tolerance nature. Flexibility, productivity, knowledge of machining practices and attention to detail are hallmarks of this position. The Tool & Die Associate is expected to approach their work with pride of workmanship, integrity, and a highly productive work ethic. The position requires the ability to lift 50-75#, stand throughout the shift, attention to detail, and a passion for excellence. There is required use of hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with arms. Vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and focus. There is regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and moderate noise levels. The position requires the ability to set up and run lathe, milling machines, grinders, radial drills, and saws. Actual assignments may also include punch press operation, secondary welding, tapping, assembly, running production jobs in the CNC machine, and other work the production lead sees as appropriate. Experience in a manufacturing setting, with metal working, machining, blueprint reading, and quality assurance are required. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Required Traits: Detail-oriented Responsible and Ethical Team-oriented Ability and desire to learn Required Skills & Experience: Journeyman license and 3 years-experience as a journeyman Experience in Maintenance and Trouble-shooting of Metal Stamping dies Mechanical aptitude and strong spatial relations Math, reading, and language skills able to effectively utilize company information systems Work from drawings, specifications and blueprints. Demonstrated precision in machining practices.
