Plant Controls Engineer 3rd Shift

3rd shift- 10:30PM-6:30AM (6 day a week role)

The Plant Controls Engineer plays a vital role in maintaining, optimizing, and troubleshooting the control systems that drive production processes in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This position supports ongoing production, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures that processes and systems operate efficiently and safely. What You Need for the Job:

  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Programming, or a related field (relevant experience considered in lieu of a degree).

  • Experience:

  • 2+ years as a Controls Engineer or Maintenance Technician.

  • Expertise in maintaining robots and working within JIT, SPD, ILVS, and Batch manufacturing systems.

  • Knowledge of manual and automated assembly systems, both mechanical and control systems.

  • Technical Skills:

  • PLC Programming (2-4 years): Allen Bradley ControlLogix 5000 processors.

  • Vision Systems Programming (2-4 years): Cognex, Keyence.

  • HMI Programming (2-4 years): FactoryTalk View Studio, PanelView Plus.

  • Robot Programming: Touchup paths and troubleshooting stoppages.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and Studio 5000 Logix Designer.

  • Additional Skills:

  • Ability to analyze and optimize machine performance using PLC data.

  • Experience with Ethernet networks and safety control programs.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

What You Will Do:

  • Analyze machine performance and lead root cause analysis for issues.

  • Design and implement error-proofing devices to enhance quality.

  • Maintain and optimize machine Ethernet networks.

  • Conduct safety audits and ensure compliance with safety programs.

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement automation and process improvement projects.

  • Collaborate with vendors for automation and capital equipment integration.

  • Oversee documentation and process transfer for new equipment launches.

  • Develop preventive maintenance programs with plant management.

  • Support the resolution of controls-related issues to minimize production downtime.

  • Guide and train maintenance technicians to enhance skill sets and team performance.

  • Ensure all manufacturing machinery operates at peak efficiency and safety.

  • Assist with the installation, maintenance, and optimization of tools and machines.

  • Identify and implement cost-effective efficiency improvements.
