Join Our Team as a Casual Rehabilitation Aide!
Are you looking for a flexible and rewarding role in healthcare? UPMC is seeking a dedicated Rehabilitation Aide to provide essential support at UPMC Outpatient Therapy in Mansfield and Route 6 Physical and Aquatic Therapy in Wellsboro. This is an exciting opportunity to work on an as-needed basis, covering staff vacations and call-offs, with hours between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:
Clerical Duties: Complete daily logs, registration, filing patient charges, and scheduling appointments.
Supply Management: Maintain and inventory medical supplies, ensuring the facility is well-stocked.
Patient Care Support: Apply modalities and support patient care in line with Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapy Practice Acts.
Mentorship: Assist in the orientation and mentoring of newly hired aides and therapy volunteers.
Patient Safety: Notify healthcare team members of patients’ whereabouts and ensure all safety measures are applied.
Work Area Maintenance: Keep the work area neat and orderly, clean equipment, and patient care areas.
Patient Assistance: Help with patient transfers, set up, and escorting patients to treatment areas.
Transportation: Safely transport patients and equipment between units and treatment centers.
Non-Treatment Support: Assist licensed clinicians with non-treatment aspects of therapy services.
Communication: Answer department phone calls professionally, take messages, provide information, and transfer calls.
Documentation: Record statistics, activities, exercises, and outcomes as directed by licensed clinicians.

Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Preferred Experience: Previous experience as a therapy technician or nursing assistant is preferred.
Instructional Skills: Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions effectively.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR Certification: Must obtain CPR certification based on AHA standards, including both didactic and skills demonstration components within 30 days of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification
Clearances:
Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
Act 33 with renewal
Act 34 with renewal
Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
