UPMC Diagnostic Technologist Adv - Casual - Wellsboro, PA in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania

UPMC Wellsboro is seeking a Casual Diagnostic Technologist! This role will work rotating shifts as scheduled, including one weekend per month and one holiday per year. Whether you're an experienced imaging professional or a new graduate eager to gain experience, this could be your opportunity!

*Candidates at all levels of the career ladder will be considered, including Radiology Students on track to graduate in Fall 2024. The final candidate will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary based on individual experience and education.

The Diagnostic Technologist performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs various advanced technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs or assists Clinical Specialists in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.

  • Performs all job responsibilities of Diagnostic Tech I.

  • Demonstrates competency in specialty equipment (O.R., Fluoro Procedures, etc.) and analyzes data promptly. Performs electrocardiograms and lab draw functions if applicable.

  • Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates an advanced level of knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging by providing patient care as defined by the most up-to-date protocols and procedures.

  • Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and can cover off shifts, and on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team.

  • Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.

  • Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.

  • Assist with the training of staff and student technologists.

Diagnostic Technologist Advanced Requirements:

Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology.

2 years of Diagnostic experience is required. Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on the most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

ARRT certified in Radiography.

CPR or BLS Required.

CPR is required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

  • ARRT Certificate

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

  • Act 33 with renewal

  • Act 34 with renewal

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal

Diagnostic Technologist Requirements :

Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from an ARRT-approved school of completion of the program and scheduled graduation date.

Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT-certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist.

Must obtain radiography registry within 12 months of hire date.

CPR or BLS Required. CPR is required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
