Description
Coordinates all activities related to the procurement of parts, materials, and supplies, to support the efficient operation of the company.
- Coordinates all activities related to procurement of material beginning with intent to purchase through delivery.
- Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects, or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up on orders placed, confirms delivery, and maintains necessary records.
- Monitors minimum/maximum levels of inventory and supplies to assure optimum on hand quantities to support repair, and new business needs.
- Communicates with shop, engineering, accounting, inspection, shipping/receiving, finance and customer service personnel.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Education/Training:

- Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations
- Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
- Present information and respond to questions from management, customers and vendors
- Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine material availability and to prepare analytical reports
- Lead, mentor and coach
