Abbott Project Manager Automation in Weesp, Netherlands

Abbott Established Pharmaceuticals Division (EPD) is looking for a Project Manager Automation based in The Netherlands, Weesp. This Project Manager Automation is part of the Engineering Team and reports into the Manager Engineering. The Engineering department consists of Project Managers and engineers who support the EPD manufacturing activities in Weesp.

The Project Manager Automation is the technical expert in the area of several process automation systems and the linking pin to Abbott’s global IT organization.

Major accountabilities

The Project Manager Automation and Engineering is responsible for scheduling, estimating, executing, commissioning, validation and evaluating automation projects according to predetermined timelines and budget. Reporting project status and ensuring quality throughout the project life cycle are central to this position. Projects range from projects within Pharmaceutical and Biological laboratories, chemical API production and Biological API production facilities in Weesp. The Project Manager Automation and Engineering stays up to date with the technical disciplines of IT and Process automation to advice within all projects.

Main responsibilities

  • Linking pin to Abbott’s global IT organization.

  • System administration of several process automation systems (PLC’s, SCADA & DCS)

  • Keep technical standards up to date and advice projects accordingly

  • Participating in large scale projects as discipline lead within the Abbott project teams

  • Leading automation projects as a Project Leader

Background

  • At minimum a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline

  • Min. 5-8 years of experience in process automation and/or IT in a (preferably) Pharmaceutical production environment

Competences & Skills

  • Demonstrates strong project management skills and the proven ability to manage projects

  • Broad knowledge and expertise of automation systems for industry including CSV.

  • Ability to anticipate, recognize and resolve simple and complex technical issues, draw conclusions and evaluate alternatives and initiate corrective actions.
