This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. We are actively seeking an Avionics Systems Engineer to play a pivotal role in our ambitious Zero Boil Off (ZBO) cryocooler program, focused on pushing the boundaries of aerospace technology. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing advanced avionics systems crucial for the program's success, contributing deep industry expertise to design, integration, and testing phases. Your duties will include drafting precise system requirements, leading verification and validation efforts to ensure robust and reliable functionality, and resolving complex technical challenges unique to the cryogenic operating environment. Collaboration is at the heart of our endeavors; hence, you will liaise with cross-functional teams to drive effective integration of avionics with the wider system architecture, optimizing performance for zero boil-off applications. We are looking for a forward-thinking engineer who is adept at managing intricate system interactions and excited about contributing to groundbreaking advances in space technology. Special Mentions Relocation provided Travel expected up to 10% of the time Interviews will include a technical assessment Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Collaborate with Systems Engineering team to develop and refine avionics sub-system and component requirements Collaborate with other IPT's to ensure the integrated avionics solution meets the program needs (Electrical, Software, I&T) Develop and help execute detailed test plans for validation and verification of the avionics systems. Manage documentation related to system design, test procedures, and results for internal use and regulatory compliance. Minimum Qualifications B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent 5+ years in avionics industry Full development cycle experience Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications M.S. in Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering Experience working at all levels of avionics development (circuit card design, box level design, systems design) Prior experience developing avionics for in-space environments Experience with formal verification process's (DO-254, DO-178, etc) Compensation Range for: CO applicants is $125,400.00-$175,560.00;WA applicants is $136,800.00-$191,520.00 Other site ranges may differ Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.
