Clear Lake Regional Medical Center is currently looking for aManager - Rehab Services.

POSITION GOAL:

To assist the Director in supervising and coordinating activities of the Rehabilitation Services programs and staff to administer optimal treatment of disabled, injured or diseased patients of all ages. Administer medically prescribed programs and treatments to detect, assess, prevent, correct, and alleviate physical disability and pain from injury, disease, disorders or physical deformities. The department will meet age specific needs of neonatal (0-4 wks.), infant (1 mo.-12 mos.), child (1 yr.-12 yrs.), adolescent (13 yrs.-18 yrs.), adult (18 yrs.-64 yrs.), and geriatric (greater than 64 yrs.) population.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recommends and implements new methods for improving and expanding patient/customer services and developing more efficient and quality department operations.

  • Interacts with physicians and staff regarding patient care and departmental functions while maintaining confidentiality of all pertinent patient care information to assure patient’s rights are protected.

  • Observes personnel in performance of duties and evaluates efficiency, skills, abilities, and attitudes toward fellow workers and patients for use in recommending personnel actions and determining effectiveness of methods.

  • Ensures employees receive needed orientation and educational training to perform their jobs and prepare them to meet the age specific requirements of the patients they serve.

  • Works closely with hospital management in determining adequate staffing levels, equipment needs of the department, and in preparing annual capital and participating in strategic planning of operating budgets.

  • Responsible for assisting in developing productivity targets and maintaining these targets.

  • Responsible for compliance and cost effective management of all aspects of Rehabilitation Services.

  • Prepares staff schedules including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

  • Rounds on patients and employees to improve quality of care and satisfaction.

  • Evaluates patient and develops appropriate and effective treatment program in accordance with patient’s status, medical referral and therapy evaluation results while maintaining confidentiality of all pertinent patient care information to assure patient’s rights are protected.

  • Participates in clinic maintenance prevention procedures.

  • Reports to Director patient-care management problems, equipment needs and maintenance requirements. Cosigns all students’ notes under his/her supervision. Coordinates patient’s treatment with other health care professionals where appropriate.

  • Demonstrates compliance with department and hospital Policies & Procedures while displaying cooperative and constructive attitude in intradepartmental and interdepartmental relationships.

  • Actively engages in learning and continuing education for self-improvement and professional growth. Attends and participates in staff meetings/inservices.

  • Actively assists in revising, developing department Policies and Procedures and development of Performance Improvement indicators.

  • Shares and promotes the hospital’s Mission, Vision and Values: supports the Ethics and Compliance Program.

  • Classified as essential personnel during internal and external disaster situations.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Five or more year previous supervisory skills preferred.

  • Graduate of APTA/ AOTA approved school with a minimum Bachelor of Science degree.

  • Possesses knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served including:

  • Excellent working knowledge of CMS requirements and insurance requirements.

  • Good management abilities, good organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Licensed PT, OT, or SLP in the State of Texas is required!

  • Current BCLS certification from the American Hospital Association required.
