Primary Objectives of Position: To help the individual student attain self-understanding and achievement in the educational setting
To assist in school systemic improvements to benefit all students in academic, social andemotional growth.
Major Areas of Accountability
Gather information from teachers to determine appropriate course placement.
IEP conferences participation
Student enrollment process
Meet with parents as needed to discuss academic progress, social/emotional concerns and safe and healthy lifestyles.
Facilitate or participate in conferences with teachers regarding student progress.
Work with students in crisis
Share with staff individual assessment data along with strategies for improvement.
Provide resources to students and parents about awide range of post-secondary opportunities.
Assist students with college search and application process including individual planning meetings and informational programming.
Assist, coordinate, and administer assessments including Advanced Placement (AP), PSAT, ACT and SAT.
Coordinate with local universities to help provide dual credit opportunities.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Missouri Counselor certification required
Bachelors degree or higher in counseling or related field
Master's Degreepreferred
