Job Purpose and Impact
The Analytic Visualization Analyst will develop an in depth understanding of the business to innovate significant data driven insights to help business leaders make better decisions and will develop and combine subject matter expertise in key data domains. In this role, you will act as a partner with internal stakeholders and technical staff to execute a business technology strategy that delivers reporting and analytics solutions. You will be designing and building these strategic and actionable insights utilizing the comprehensive visual analytics capabilities of Cargill's Self Service Analytics Platforms, connecting to the underlying data models in our Big Data Platform. In this role, you will act as an authority for key metrics and KPI’s, data lineage, access, visualizations, and storytelling across functions and regions. The insights will drive value for the Cargill FIBI business and help the business make fact based decisions, and become an insight driven organization.
Identify and analyze business needs, gather requirements, and define the scope and objectives to drive business decisions.
Prepare data and explore new potential data to support reporting and analysis initiatives.
Prepare reports and analysis to identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets for values and new opportunities.
Build prototypes to test new concepts and be a key contributor of ideas that improve fact based decision making, (advanced) analytics, and key performance metrics.
Lead analysis in collaboration with process and operations leadership to identify the top opportunities for improvement and track progress and impact on future results.
Mentor and coach peers and recommend process improvements related to delivery and new methodologies.
Partner with the team to develop a detailed understanding of the business and offer mentorship or technical solutions to identify business problems.
Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
3+ years applied experience in working with Visual Analytics Platforms like Tableau and/or Power BI.
2+ years applied experience in optimizing performance of dashboards (front-end) to accommodate for non-functional requirements.
Supported and enabled management information and business intelligence strategy.
Applied experience with UI/UX concepts and storytelling through data.
Applied experience with data process mapping and business analysis.
Experience with the Agile mindset.
Certification in programming language or business intelligence tools
Applied experience with Data Warehousing concepts (e.g. dimensional modelling) and the use of traditional RDBMS;
Confirmed skills querying relational databases with query language
Confirmed experience working with large data stores
Experience with Alteryx, Tableau Prep and/or KNIME
Experience with SAP Business Objects
Experience in Diagnostic & Advanced Analytics
