Ametek Inc. Mechanical Engineering Intern in Wayne, New Jersey

Vision Research is a Business Unit in the Materials Analysis Division of AMETEK, Inc. Vision Research manufactures industry leading high-speed digital cameras. Our cameras are primarily sold into industrial, academic, defense and government research facilities. We also have a smaller entertainment oriented camera business. Although not our primary focus, Vision Research has received both an Academy Award and an Emmy for our technical contribution to the entertainment industry. This summer intern position is to assist our Senior Mechanical Engineer with tasks that include solid modeling, 3D printing, electronic packaging, tooling/fixturing, thermal analysis and all aspects of engineering documentation (bills of materials, assembly/part drawings, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), etc.)

Qualified individuals will be working with a small team of other technical professionals. The candidate therefore must be a team player, be teachable and eager to learn, and must have a drive to succeed and grow professionally.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Generate 3D models in Solidworks
Generate/update assembly and piece part drawings using Solidworks
Designs and develops tooling/fixturing to assist in the manufacturing of high-speed cameras
Utilize 3D printer capabilities for quick turnaround of fixtures
Measure thermal performance of new products
Assist generation of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
Other duties as assigned.

Skills
Currently in pursuit of a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience with SolidWorks required
Dependable, driven, teachable person with good work ethic.
